The new installment of the "Terminator" franchise hit theaters a few weeks back and put up some impressive numbers...unfortunately it was only good enough for 2nd place behind "Night At The Museum: Battle OF The Smithsonian". It raked in around $56 million in 4 days over the long weekend but it was a little underwhelming as far as story and character development goes. Sure, there were a gang of explosions but the "big twist" was pretty obvious from jump. Most people I know who saw it thought it was just okay and critics and fans both found it to be okay but nothing groundbreaking. It's made $93 million in the North American box office after 12 days of wide release.

Sam Raimi's long awaited return to horror is "Drag Me To Hell". The film has been well received by fans & critics alike so far and it opened at 4th in this past weekends box office numbers by bringing in just shy of $16 million so far. The question is, will this film be seen as a must have DVD when it finally hit store shelves in late Fall? That remains to be seen. June marks the opening of "The Hangover", "The Taking Of Pelham 123" & "Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen" amongst other films. The blockbuster season will officially be in effect next Dartflix edition. Now, for my film viewing, purchase & rental recommendations for the first half of the month.
