Dart Adams presents 25 More Producers On MySpace That You Need To Hear Right Now (2008 Edition) Part Four

Now we've come to the payoff, the final part of my second blog series of 2008 entitled "Dart Adams presents 25 More Producers On MySpace That You Need To Hear Right Now". For the past couple of years I've showcased 50 of the best producers and beatmakers on MySpace. In 2007, I picked 50 out of more than 350 possible entries and this season I had to pick fr0m more than 750 possible candidates due to the rousing success of the first list.

So many members of my first list have gone on to have success and get key placements as well as make some great music over the past couple of years. Several more of my 2008 selections will go on to do the same thing, just remember where you saw them first. This will be the last time that I ever do a list that's such a massive undertaking since I'll be taking a leave from blogging in March 2009 for God knows how long. This will complete the list of 100 out of more than 1000 possible contestants. Enough talk, let's get to it already:

Analogic
Reps: Trenton, NJ

The first time I became aware of Analogic's production was back in 2004 when he did a couple tracks that I liked. He stayed consistent throughout the past couple of years making heat rock after heat rock until he had a breakout 2008, He has crafted bangers for himself on the A&R "Serenade For The Moment EP" with Rashid Hadee, Kaze's "Block 2 The Basement", Chaundon's "Carnage" and DJ K.O. presents "Picture This...". The sleeper has now been awakened.

Mike Slott
Reps: Dublin, Ireland

Whether it's his 7" vinyl singles "Knock Knock"/"My Lightbridge" and "Flunky"/"Deux Three" or his EP's 'Secrets" and "Puzzle" with his group Heralds Of Change (w/Hudson Mohawke) , Mike Slott just makes ridiculous beats. I've spent a great amount of 2008 trying to track down his work and now it's time for you all to experience what I already have:

Nick Tha 1da
Reps: Waashington, D.C.

How many beat battles or live beat showcases can one man win? Nick Tha 1da is one of the best and most versatile and creative producers and beatmakers in the talent laden Baltimore/Washington D.C. area. Anyone that's nodded their heads to his production or seen one of his MySpace beatmaking videos can attest to that. You need to have the "Procrastinators' Convention: Postponed Mixtape" and "The 1da Years" LP in your lives. Check the sound:

Afta-1
Reps: Los Angeles, CA

Afta-1's new instrumental project "Aftathoughts Vol.1" was one of the best efforts of 2008 rivalling even Flying Lotus' "Los Angeles" and Koushik's "Out My Window". His spacey, futuristic sounding production has captivated the attention of beatheads and fiends that seek out that next shit (me) and now it's time for the world to know (like the whole world reads this blog!) what I already do.

Samiyam
Reps: Ann Arbor, MI

One of the premier up and coming cats on the beat culture scene is Samiyam straight outta Ace Duece. He's since made moves out to California where he makes ill beats and appears in showcases and festivals like Brainfeeder with the rest of the best beatmakers and producers on the circuit. He's half of the duo FlyamSam with Flying Lotus and his two recent releases "Rap Beats Vol. 1" and the "Return EP" has been making waves with beat fanatics the world over. Stop sleeping on him.

Hubert Daviz
Reps: Cologne, Germany

His name will remind you of a former North Carolina Tarheel long range shooter but his beats will remind you that Hip Hop and the art of beatmaking is far from dead. This UpMyAlley records affiliate dropped his free mixtape "Beatnicks Tape #1" this Summer and heads still can't get enough of it. Be sure to be on the lookout for more ill tracks from this German producer in the near future.

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all.
