It's that time of year again where I do my weekly posts about my beloved New England Patriots on my communal NFL blog entitled Armchair Linebacker
This NFL season is completely up in the air and it's gonna take me a couple of weeks to get a grasp of everything. Hopefully, I can get out to a good first week score of 10 or more in Dallas Penn's 2008 Pick 'Em League. Last year, I lost the 2007 Pick 'Em championship by one goddamn point after I finally got the hang of picking with the spread in mind and my dumb ass never picking against the Patriots even when I knew they couldn't meet the spread near the end of the season. You know what they say, hindsight is 20/20.
The first game of the season starts in less than 30 minutes and shortly after the game I write my post about this afternoon's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. After the Boston Celtics won their first NBA championship in 22 seasons and the recent re-emergence of the defending World Series champion Red Sox following the Manny Ramirez trade the Patriots are in a unique position: Win or become an afterthought in championship hungry Boston.
I can't wait to see if Tom Brady can put together another great season or if he'll just flounder for 16 games and some postseason appearances. I don't know what to expect this year.
One.

I'm positively effin' giddy this happened. I could totally tolerate the Red Sox winning the World Series, now. There is a God.
