Your Worst Nightmare Squared AKA Live From Boston, It’s Friday Afternoon!

Somehow the Red Sox managed to win both games of a doubleheader in Fenway Park against the defending American League champion Detroit Tigers. The first game featured a gem pitched by none other than Julian “Aquaman” Tavarez (seen above) (2-4 5.59 ERA) as the Red Sox won 2-1 while Johnathan Papelbon (who hadn’t pitched in 10 days) sealed the deal (SV 11). In the second game they managed to come from behind 2-1 to tie the game and eventually win it off of Eric Hinske’s 2 run HR in the 7th inning. The bullpen pitched extremely well during the twin bil, especially Brendan Donnelly (2-1 2.31 ERA) and Hideki Okajima (both below) (0-0 0.44 ERA 2 SV’s) who recorded a win and a save respectively in the night game. The Red Sox are now 28-12 and they still have the best record in baseball. The early reports are that the Atlanta Braves tonight is in jeopardy...Lord knows we’d love to see another doubleheader at Fenway!

The Red Sox are now 9.5 games ahead of the 2nd place Yankees (18-21) and Devern Hansack (0-013.50 ERA) was called up from Pawtucket to pitch tonight because Josh Beckett has been placed on the 15 day DL and he’ll miss at least 2 of his next scheduled starts. Seeing as how Curt Schilling has looked shaky lately and Wake got shelled for the first time all season, it would seem that they Red Sox were due for a cold streak, huh? I’d think that too if it weren’t for the fact that the Sox have STILL somehow managed to pull out games in the most improbable ways imaginable. Julian Tavarez was amazing (at least for him) in the first game, allowing only one run all game! Big Papi didn’t play the second game last night due to illness and Schilling couldn’t find the strike zone...the defensive play of the game AND game winning HR were both provided by Eric Hinske, a dude that usually gets splinters in his ass. If that don’t make ya think they’re currently hotter than Mims on fire drenched in kerosene in Hell on top of a naked Lauren London than I don’t know what to tell ya.

It’s sucks that none of my favorite Hip Hop songs or videos are in regular rotation on BET or MTV..truth is that they rarely even come on VH1 Soul. Back in the days, I could watch a bunch of different kinds of videos all from different genres of music either in the regular rotation of these channels or at least on the specialized shows like “120 Minutes”, “Amp!” or “The Indie Show”. Ever since MuchMusic/Vibe got switched for Fuse and Burlybear died things have gotten kind of stale. MTV2 doesn’t deliver what it originally promised to do so now I gotta look online for videos worth watching. I’ll post a couple of my favorite current videos and then get back to watching old X Men cartoons with my niece:
