Damn Yankees! AKA Corpses Can’t Swing Bats Like That

The Red Sox went into the Bronx and caught a beatdown. That’s right I said it. I’m not an apologist, I’m a realist. Wakefield’s ball hung in the air and the Yankees bats took him yard a few times resulting in in his ERA taking a bruising and he now drops to 4-5 on the season. Chen Ming Wang on the other hand had a great night on the mound resulting in a 6-2 Yankee win that cut the Red Sox lead in the AL East to 9.5 games. The Yankees have now won back to back games against two of the premier teams in Major League Baseball (Mets and Red Sox). Tonight, Julian “Aquaman” Tavarez (2-4 5.59 ERA) goes against Mike Mussina in Yankees Stadium and hopefully the Sox can pull this one out so we get Schilling to hopefully close out the series with a 2-1 series win (I'm not holding my breath on that one, though). This win can potentially give the Yankees some confidence and momentum going into the rest of the series. This series can potentially give them a jumping off point for the rest of season (hopefully not). The season series in now Red Sox 5 Yankees 2, first to 10 wins and the Red Sox are now 30-14 while the Yankees close to 3 games under .500 at 20-23. The Red Sox bats should be awake in the Bronx tonight so I'll feel like writing a lot more tomorrow.

One.
