The Thanksgiving weekend was huge for the film industry as the five day holiday weekend amounted to a record $273 million dollar take. Unfortunately, the big winner was "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" followed by "The Blind Side". Two steps forward, two steps back © Paula Abdul & Skat Kat. "2012" even tacked on an extra $17 million to it's total haul. *Sigh* Whatever. Fuck it.
"Ninja Assassin" earned mixed reviews from fans & critics alike but made $13. 3 million over the weekend and has topped $22 million since. "The Road" was regarded as far too depressing for the holiday season and people avoided like the plague much like the studio was afraid would happen. They pushed it back to the holiday season thinking it would serve as counter programming to the blockbusters in theaters at that time. Still tanked anyways as it hasn't even broken $2 million dollars at the North American box office after 5 whole days. I bet it's really good, too. Too bad not even any bootleggers bothered to go see it yet.
This will be the final Dartflix post on Poisonous Paragraphs. When I bring this series to Bloggerhouse it will be revamped, revised and streamlined somehow. When I started this series back three years ago I did it weekly. Then I decided to do it bi-monthly, specifically on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of each month. When the SAG strike happened I switched to Dartflix Lite because IMDb couldn't update the upcoming films, new releases or trailers anymore. This series would've been called "Fuck Chris Gore's Opinion" but my brother advised me against it. Good call. Below are my recommended films for the entire month.
