Dart Adams presents 25 More Producers You Need To Hear Right Now (November 2009 Edition) Part One

It's the November edition of "25 More Producers You Need To Hear Right Now...". After this edition has ran it's course I will have featured 100 beatmakers, musicians & producers in less than 6 months. I decided to mix it up and feature a few legends in with some well respected veterans alongside some up & comers and slept on talent from all across the globe. I do this because I can and let's face it, somebodies gotta do it. Enough talk, let's go!:

DJ House Shoes
Reps: Detroit, MI

If you aren't familiar with the name DJ House Shoes chances are you've been living under a goddamn rock the past decade plus. Not only is he one of the most well respected DJ's in the game but he's a renowned producer as well. He's crafted gems for Big Proof, Elzhi, Decompoze, Common Ground, Lacks (Ta’raach) & Baatin, Marv Won, Invincible & Finale, Pumpkinhead & Torae, Now On, Guilty Simpson, Phat Kat, Black Milk, Ty & Kory, Quelle, Paradime, Wildchild, Stacy Epps, Shawn Jackson, Boog Brown, Miz Korona, Hodgepodge (Big Tone), Quest McCody, Danny Brown and even J Dilla himself over the years.

Shoes' resume is so extensive that even a Hip Hop head like myself has trouble trying to keep up with his credits. Forget about going to Discogs for help. Houseshoes currently resides in California and is a huge presence on the beat circuit while spinning regularly @ The Do Over & Shoes House. Look out for his All City Records releases dropping soon and subscribe to his podcasts for that new heat. Don't sleep, because sleep is the cousin of Death.

Stevo
Reps: Berlin, Germany

If you've never heard Stevo's Dilla tribute project "Muffins" or his brilliant instrumental album "Another Space Odyssey" then I genuinely feel sorry for you. No, I'm serious. I've been playing both of these releases to death over the past year. It's imperative that you have both of these jawns in your iTunes libraries or whatever system you use to keep your music files arranged so you can play them both back to back. Also look out for his collaborations with Audioholik in the near future. You've been oddicially warned.

Tokimonsta (Brainfeeder)
Reps: Los Angeles, CA

She's known as the first lady of Brainfeeder. She's torn down a gang of live showcases and in-stores. Her remixes and original tracks are off the wall like a Chris Brown poster. She's also worked with an impressive list of artists and rocked shows alongside some of the best in the game. Armed with only a Roland SP 404, laptop, MIDI controller and some creativity Tokimonsta is poised for a world takeover (Tokimonsta presents Bedtime Lullabies is proof of that). Who wan' test?

Black Spade AKA Stoney Rock (Hawthorne Headhunters)
Reps: St. Louis, MO

Producer/singer/arranger/emcee Black Spade should've been featured last year. The truth is that I already did a feature on him because I figured there was no way in Hell I didn't already. When Black Spade dropped his debut album "To Serve With Love" I remarked that it was an impressive debut and it made my Top 50 albums of 2008. Then came the whole Charles Hamilton beat thievery debacle. In any event, Black Spade AKA Stoney Rock returned this summer with the ridiculous Hawthorne Headhunters project. If you've managed to sleep on him for this long then here's your wake up call.

Kev Brown (Low Budget Crew)
Reps: Landover, MD

I first heard of Kev Brown back when he was down with DJ Jazzy Jeff and Touch Of Jazz Productions. Since then he's done nothing but produce heat rocks and classics. In conclusion, I'd like to take the opportunity to tip my cap to Kev Brown, slept on emcee, ill beatmaker, Apollo legend! Stop sleeping on my man! Kev Brown! Brown! Brown! Brown!

Next up: Dert, Judah, Elaquent, Mono/Poly & Zilla Rocca

Best of Luck to TOKi who leaves on her 1st tour today, and congrats on RBMA as well. Stevo has had fire for a min. The Germans aren't playing.

Oh yea... Someone tell Spade to bring "Citroën" back! Such a banger (personal fave).
