The past couple of weeks have been pretty good for the box office. The film "Defiance" opened in limited release and the following week the film "Notorious" had a surprisingly strong box office showing by making $21.5 million dollars over the weekend to debut at #4. Considering that Notorious was only in about half of the theaters of the #1 film in the country (Paul Blart, Mall Cop) it outearned it per theater by a wide margin. Biggie Smalls is still the illest!
I won't bore you all with too much film talk because I'll do a full Sundance Film Festival recap later and tomorrow I'll post up the new installment of "A Tale Of Ten Trailers" tomorrow because today is Inauguration Day. A day that I didn't think would come anytime time soon, frankly. My niece and nephew are in school right this minute watching the 44th President Of The United States Of America get inducted into office and speak to the people of this nation. I type this very sentence as he speaks and realize just how great a moment in history this is. I'll tell my grandchildren about this...and include the fact that I was typing away on a PowerBook G4 while watching CNN with one window open to Twitter. It's a new day and a new era. Let's all face it together.

Rent/Watch these movies at your own risk:
Repo! The Genetic Opera: ZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!
Max Payne: The first 45 minutes were so godawful I couldn't even finish it.
Saw V: Fuk U
City Of Ember: Alternate title: City Of Slumber...the book was better.
Center Stage-Turn It Up: Turn it off.
Domino [Blu-Ray]: Domino Harvey deserved better than this Tony Scott clusterfuck of a "film". Now it's in Blu-Ray! *Rolls eyes*
Vacancy 2-The First Cut: Straight to video sequels? Agnes Bruckner...what happened to her career?
Fireproof: Fuck off Kirk Cameron!
Vicky Cristina Barcelona: No no no.
College: Another generic college/stoner movie. Kick rocks.
The Uninvited: This movie is just like the film poster...nothing but ass.
Coming (relatively) Soon To A Theater (or computer) Near You:
One.
