The Clash Of The Titans: Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers @ The Jungle
On February 5th, I witnessed the thrill of victory (for the wrong goddamn team!). The Lakers came back after missing a gang of free throws and being on the ropes for a fair amount of the game and came back to win behind a bunch of huge Kobe Bryant threes and two clutch free throws from Lamar Odom. Whoever thought Ray should've got a call at the end of that game don't kid yourselves. You have to earn the win and who didn't know Ray was getting the hand off?
I also witnessed the agony of defeat (again..for the wrong goddamn team!). The Lakers have now punched the Celtics in the mouth twice so far this year with no counter punch forthcoming unless the C's see them in the NBA Finals this June. The Celtics need to finish with a better regular season record to ensure home court advantage over both the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Lakers. Not only that, but they need to add some veterans to the bench to ensure that rematch this Summer. 110-109. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, all that counts is the W.
Now the Celtics have to root for the Lakers to beat the Cavs so they can get the lead back in the Eastern conference tomorrow. Next they have to get another streak poppin' off and keep the pressure on both squads. At least they wiped the smug look off this assholes face..my favorite director ever Spike Lee. It's back to the drawing board for my C's. Until they beat the Lakers the question will remain as to if the Celtics can really be considered the best team in the NBA? To the victor goes the spoils, people. There's one way to rectify that situation...win and keep on winning.
