The thing with the imported toys was that a lot of kids got injured playing with them, leading to parent's groups instituting new measures to test the toys. Then came the "dangerous toy" backlash. After the initial giant robot craze died down and the Shogun Warriors comic book was cancelled, the show Force Five ran for another good 4 or 5 years. Ill shit. You awakened many memories I would have never recovered with this post. Perhaps the physical toys weren' t the greatest but the concepts behind many of the series are kind of dope. Thanks for this one.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6420176845224246684.post-51795922108289874032007-05-17T18:33:00.000-04:002007-05-17T18:33:00.000-04:00I only recognized the Silver Hawks comic, and I pe...I only recognized the Silver Hawks comic, and I personally loved the cartoon. It's not as grand as I originally thought, but it takes me back and maybe that's why I enjoy it so much. Besides, nothing beats that theme song. I thought no one knew about Captain Power. I knew one kid that had it when I was 11 and I'm 30 now. He was my neighbor and at the time we thought it was the tightest thing ever! But of course we were also at the beginning of when video games were becoming an unstoppable beast with the introduction of the Nintendo and the Master System. I would play the games and then try my hand at Captain Power. You didn't really think too much about it, you just did it. Good stuff and M.A.S.K. is still dope and I bet it could make a come back today.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6420176845224246684.post-87676847753469528162007-05-16T20:14:00.000-04:002007-05-16T20:14:00.000-04:00i'm surprised that you didn't mention the atari fo...i'm surprised that you didn't mention the atari force (even though it's technically not a toy) but this brought back memories of stealing reads from my brother.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6420176845224246684.post-69718483024063618562007-05-16T20:01:00.000-04:002007-05-16T20:01:00.000-04:00I see you putting in some good work over here play...I see you putting in some good work over here playboy.
